In preparing for her residency in Balchik, at the Black Sea, Isidora Krstic thought of her precarious position as an artist – the rising cost of living that puts existential needs in the forefront with seaside holidays and time for idle rest and relaxation increasingly becoming a luxury.

Given the location of the residency at the seaside, a typical holiday destination, the expectation of working and producing a piece of work is in somewhat of a dissonance with the artist’s desires for rest. With this in mind, Isidora decides to make this desire the main focus of her work. Untypical for her artistic practice, the artist places herself as the subject of the video piece and captures her attempts at achieving a state of weightlessness in water, by repetitively diving and ascending to the surface.
